Fudgy Brownies

  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 6 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped
  • cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • teaspoon salt
  • cup coarsely chopped walnuts


  1. Preheat oven to 350F. Line an 8-inch baking pan with nonstick foil.
  2. In a medium pan, melt the butter and chocolate over very low heat. Stir until smooth; remove from heat. Whisk in sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
  3. In a small bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Stir into chocolate mixture until combined. Fold in walnuts.
  4. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake in preheated oven until a pick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs, about 30 minutes. Let cool completely in pan before cutting.
