  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon minced shallot
  • 1 bunch Swiss chard, stems removed
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground pepper


  1. In a skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat. Add shallot and cook, stirring, until softened, about 30 seconds.
  2. Stir in chard, salt, and pepper. Cover and cook, stirring occasionally, until chard is tender, about 5 minutes.
