Brush Up On Your Dental Health

Oral care: 6 things you can do to protect your smile.

1. Brush your teeth at least twice a day

Brushing with a fluoride toothpaste and soft-bristled toothbrush removes plaque from tooth surfaces, but your brushing technique is key.

Consider these basics from the American Dental Association: Hold your toothbrush at a 45-degree angle against your teeth and move in short back-and-forth strokes. Take care to brush every surface of your teeth as well as your tongue.

And remember to replace your toothbrush every three to four months, or sooner if the bristles become frayed.
