3. Forget Dieting.

The holiday season is not the period to continue with your weight loss regime. In fact, we can't think of a worse time for going on a diet. With the availability of high-fat snacks and social occasions, over-restricting yourself can lead to pigging out. Instead, set your goal to weight maintenance, so you can still indulge in holiday foods, but eat moderately. Resume your diet after the holiday has passed.

4. Liquid Calories.

A little alcohol or soft drink for toasting is fine, but watch out: consuming too much can add unwanted calories. If you're watching your waistline, it's a good idea to cut back.



5. Get Active.

Soak in the festive atmosphere by being on the move. Go gift shopping with your family or friends. Walking around the mall will keep those bulges away. When you're at a countdown party, join in the crowd of dancers and let yourself loose. Finally, it's normal to put on 1-2 kg during the festive season, so relax.
