According to Chin, the average 150-pound woman can burn 380 calories by scrubbing the floors for 60 minutes, and 306 calories by washing the car, and 168 calories by vacuuming.

Even simpler chores such as washing the dishes and doing the laundry can burn a minimum of 144 calories per hour.
